Geoffrey's 60th Birthday celebrations!

Geoffrey sends an enormous thank you to everyone for helping to make his 60th Birthday celebrations go off with such a bang.  He spent the day itself with family, but on Friday 17th the church was transformed into a sparkling party venue for a buffet supper.  A special thank you goes to Pam Fulton for organising everything and for creating a splendid birthday cake with room for the full quota of candles...  But thanks should also go to all those who came along to help clean the church after the builders had left and who helped move all the chairs, set up the party and tidy up again afterwards...

A new chasuble

Geoffrey has decided to put the money that people so generously gave him for his birthday towards a new green chasuble for St John's.  This will be made by Watts & Co and the green damask fabric to be used was originally designed by GF Bodley - the architect of St John's and a co-founder of Watts & Co.

What it says on the tin... the church was turned into a sparkling party venue... Pam made an enormous cake... large enough for the full quota of candles!
...but will there be enough cake to go round?  That's the really important question... Not all hot air - some puff as well... 'Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday
dear Geoff-reeee...'
beware the man with the big knife... 'Anyone care for some cake?' Gavin and Olivia 'aving a larf...
friends from all over... Geoffrey's sister Helen fraternizes with the locals... after the party's over...
