Lent

a time for reflection and thought...

Lent is a time of preparation for the great festival of Easter.  A time for reflection and thought.

A prayer for Lent

Dear God, our Father,

When I stop to think
I am amazed at Your love for me.
You created me, and all the Universe.
You never cease to sustain me with life.
You have given me my friends and relatives
and all that is good and beautiful
and true, to enjoy.
Most of all You have shown Your love
by sending us Your Son.

Help me to keep this Lent
as an opportunity for
knowing Him more clearly,
loving Him more dearly
and following Him more nearly,
day by day.

Amen

Lent Groups 2011

This year we are holding house groups to follow the York Course - A Rich Inheritance

A Rich Inheritance
Jesus' legacy of love

In five interactive sessions this course aims to help groups explore

  • An Empty Tomb
  • A group of people
  • A story
  • A power
  • A meal.
Groups meet in different venues, including a pub, at different times of day and on different days - e-mail the office to find out more
Lent Appeals

The Manna Society - a homelessness charity providing centres in London - provide an address, advice, food and washing facilities for the homeless
