St John's Church, EppingEpping is a market town in Essex, in the East of England, 20 miles from central London.  The Anglican (Church of England) Parish of St John the Baptist is part of the Epping District Team Ministry - a group of four parishes who work together and support each other.

Ordinary Time

The liturgical period outside the distinctive liturgical seasons.  It is called ordinary time from the word ordinal or numbered time.  The Holy Trinity continues to be celebrated

Coffee CupMarket Day Coffee - Coffee is served in church on Mondays from 10am -12pm, a nice way to meet friends for a chat. picture of a bookThere is a very popular 2nd Hand Bookstall at church on a Monday and at many events, raising money for St John's Church funds.

Current Focus

Christian Aid logoChristian Aid Week was from 9 to 15 May 2010 and St John's takes part in the Churches Together in Epping District town wide collection - see this week's pondering for reasons why to take part and help to make real and lasting changes in the lives of some of the world's poorest people.  St John's collected over £1700 as the collection part of the £5400 collected in total. Thank you to all who took part

The Box logoWe continue to support The Box, one of a number of churches and individuals supporting this charity that works to meet the social & educational needs of local youngsters, particularly as the recession means cuts in funding streams and people have less money to give.   Please pray for Ali & Tim Dolan & the Koinonia Youth Trust.
