Ride and Stride 2007

*Essex Historic Churches Trust Sponsored Ride & Stride* *September 2007...*

A group of seven congregants from St John's took on a sponsored cycle ride around Epping and Harlow. After visiting all the churches in Epping, the route went to ...		... Epping Upland Church, looking for someone to sign the forms ...	and getting a signature at Epping Green Chapel

Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Harlow	Outside the New Life Fellowship Church, admiring the interesting architecture.		St Andrew's at Nettleswell, one of the original parish churches

St Paul's Church in the centre of Harlow, build in the late 1950s and the work of Frederick Gibberd	...Our Lady of Fatima, RC church, another interesting church, sadly not open either ...	St Mary's Church at Latton, one of the original parish churches that was incorporated into the plan of Harlow. This church was open, the older door was a draw for photographs.
*Art Exhibition November 2007*

The Epping Art Society Annual Art Exhibition held in the north aisle of the church.		... the congregation viewing the pictures after the service.
*Tree Festival December 2007*

At a quieter moment during the day, looking up the south aisle		... and looking down the north aisle

At a busier moment during the festival		... and after people had gone home, showing the lights to their best.
*Midnight Mass*

Candle lit church for midnight, with nightlights on every flat surface.	Preaching by candlelight, wearing the Bodley Chasuble, one of the four services a year when the Chasuble is worn.		returning from communion - the blurriness at the altar is caused by incense.
